What to see in Tenerife?
Tenerife Frequently Asked Questions
Any time is great to come to Tenerife! If you love the sun, from May to October you will enjoy warm weather perfect for the beach. For those who prefer cooler temperatures and outdoor activities such as hiking, the months of November to April are ideal. And the best thing is that in Tenerife there is always something exciting to do, whatever the season!
It depends on your plans. If you feel like adventure and want to explore hidden corners, renting a car is an excellent option. But if you prefer to relax and enjoy more accessible areas such as tourist areas and beaches, you can count on public transportation and taxis.
Packing your suitcase is part of the excitement! Since Tenerife has a fairly mild climate, I recommend comfortable, light clothing for the day and a jacket for cool nights. If you plan to visit Teide, remember that it is colder in the mountains, so add some warm clothing. Don’t forget your swimsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. If you are one of those who like to walk or hike, good shoes are essential. And of course, a camera to capture the incredible landscapes!
Completely! Tenerife is super family friendly. There are safe beaches for the little ones, super fun water parks, and many educational activities such as visiting the Teide Observatory. In addition, there are hotels and restaurants designed so that both you and the children have a great time.
The tap water here is drinkable, but since it comes directly from desalination plants, it may taste a little different than what you’re used to. For the palate, many prefer bottled water, but for cooking or making tea, tap water is great!
How to climb Teide?
Climb to TeideOne of the most popular trails in Tenerife, the Teide climb is a route that takes you directly to the highest peak in Spain. The ride may feel like a roller coaster, full of steep ascents and descents (including the well-known White Mountain Pass), but it is certainly a rewarding ride. Distance: approximately 17 kilometers (route from Montaña Blanca to Pico del Teide) Average duration: 6-7 hours to climb (it is recommended to spend the night at the Altavista Refuge and continue at dawn to see the sunrise from the peak).
